Chance Wilson
Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Founder

Chance Wilson, at just 24 years old, stands as the driving force behind The WGI Worldwide Company, where he holds the titles of Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and Founder. Originating as a one-man charity in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, WGI has evolved under Mr. Wilson's visionary leadership into a global education leader reshaping the way people learn worldwide.

Fueled by a passion to combat illiteracy, Chance founded WGI at the tender age of 14, spurred by the shocking realization of its impact on his community. Witnessing peers' struggle in classrooms ignited a mission to address this pervasive issue not only locally but on a global scale.

Over the last decade, WGI, under Mr. Wilson's strategic guidance, has taught thousands of people to read and write in partnership with some of the world’s most iconic brands. These include General Electric, Coca-Cola and HBO.  WGI's origin story transcends borders, leaving an enduring impact on communities globally. Chance's journey from a high school graduate in 2018 to the helm of a transformative company in New York City is a testament to his unwavering commitment to literacy. It goes beyond the conventional narrative of teaching people to read and write.

In addition to his role at WGI, Mr. Wilson is actively involved in the Board of Minisink Charter School, a forthcoming elementary school in Harlem. He previously served on the Board of Control of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library, where he supervised the operations of a $40 million library system. A connoisseur of cinema, music, and the arts, Chance Wilson embodies the spirit of youthful innovation, paving the way for a brighter, more literate future for all.
